The Cork Age Friendly County Programme is seeking the opinion of older people to help us to shape policy and programmes that will allow a better quality of life for Older People in Cork. We hope to upload surveys to allow Older People to voice their thoughts and concerns in the near future. These surveys allow us to hear the opinions of Older People to help us implement real change in County Cork that will improve the quality of life.
For now please visit the following link to Cork County Council – Your Council to log any queries that you may have: https://www.yourcouncil.ie
Cobh is currently under going the process of becoming an Age Friendly Town. One stage of this process is to complete a walkability audit along specified routes that are commonly used by older people to assess how walkable the town is i.e. pavements, signage, lighting, etc.
There are three Cobh walkability routes that were walked (pictures of these routes are highlighted below). People can call into the family resource centre to get a hard copy of the map if they want to take part in the walkability. Once the walk is completed a survey to document the findings can be undertaken by clicking the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/walkabilitycobh
For any queries on the walkability audit please contact: Stephanie Cadogan, Cobh Family Resource Centre Ltd. by phoning: 021-4816103
The closing date for the Survey is November 10th.
